At Van Lanschot, we feel that art is a natural part of positioning our bank and brand. Our art collection has decorated our offices since we were founded, and paintings, drawings and other artworks make our reception areas and our own offices special and attractive places to work.
Supporting art, artists and museums is one way that we as a bank can contribute to the preservation and creation of our cultural heritage. And so art is in our DNA. A rich tradition since 1737.
Van Lanschot has the largest corporate art collection in the Netherlands. Godefridus van Lanschot (1868-1935) loved the arts and started building our art collection, which now boasts some 1,200 pieces. As a Dutch company, we’re proud of what this country has to offer in every field of art.
Our collection aims to preserve and show the versatility and quality of Dutch visual arts, and we choose to focus solely on works of art that are in some way connected to the Netherlands.
Van Lanschot’s sponsorship of the Van Gogh Museum’s new entrance since 1 January 2015 has been the start of a unique collaboration bringing together two organisations with a long Dutch history and links with the province of Brabant.
As collectors and as facilitators of initiatives by both artists and museums, we feel an affinity with the Van Gogh Museum and the impressive way it meets the needs of an international public to encounter and get to know the man and his art. For our clients, we organise tours, workshops and special evenings at the museum.
