Van Lanschot Bankiers is pleased to announce that it has reached agreement with ING Bank on the acquisition by Van Lanschot Bankiers (Curaçao) N.V. of the private banking activities of ING Bank N.V. in Curaçao, Netherlands Antilles.
Van Lanschot has had a presence in Curaçao since 1976, offering private banking, asset management and trust services. The acquisition will enhance Van Lanschot Curaçao's client base and increase its assets under management.
The transaction is in keeping with Van Lanschot's ambition to provide a broad and high-value service offering to its Dutch and Belgian private banking clients. Boasting branches in Switzerland, Luxembourg and Curaçao, Van Lanschot offers international asset planning solutions to clients with global asset management requirements.
Van Lanschot Bankiers and ING plan to effectively transfer the activities as early as this year. The acquisition will go ahead subject to the approval of the regulator, i.e. the Central Bank of the Netherlands Antilles.
